I have a suprima 40 with exactly the same problem, I have an engineering background and resoldered some of the components on the main circuit board last time this happened and it fixed the problem for 3 years - now the problem has re-occured - not happy, will never buy a potterton again!
My answer therefore is they should be able to fix the problem as opposed to making you buy a new board. the repair should take no more than 30 mins. Looks to me like potterton are profiting by our misfortune and a cr*ppy product.

You are right. It was about the suprima. Check the BBC website and then ring potterton. Have details of your boiler from the data plate ready including model no. and serial no.
hope fully they will help.

I saw something about potterton boilers on Watchdog few months ago, check the bbc website. I think that now Potterton are now listening to customers as it is a common problem. They have re-designed the electronics board (Expensive part)
I cannot remember which Potterton boiler it is.
Definately worth checking BBC website-Watchdog & also try googling to see on how to get a free repair.
