where do I attach extension spring on cable clutch?

I own a craftsman 917271825 auto 42" riding mower. I dropped the deck so I could replace the star shaft, replace a belt and put on new blades. When I put the deck back on everything went back together fine, until I went to attach the extension spring on the blade pulley cable. I can not for the life of me figure out where it attaches. I know it attaches towards the back of the mower but I can't find anything that it can hook on to, and I can't find any diagram in the internet. I am frustrated and my lawn is taking over. HELP!!!!!!

does your model have a long spring attached to the transaxle on a two holed plate?

Im having a spring problem myself.

iIcant figure out where it went by the deck lol

I figured out where to attach the spring for the blade pully cable.
The cable goes through the support bracket from the rear so it is facing the front of the mower. There are two small pullies in the middle of the mower deck the pully on the right has a small piece sticking straight up from the middle of the pully, when the spring is attached to this it engages the the blades, this piece has a hole through it at the top. The spring has a hook on it but I couldn't get the hook through the hole so I slid it over the piece and put a keeper pin through the hole to keep the spring in place. Works like new. Hope this helps because I just about pulled my hair out trying to figure it out. I'm glad my granddaughter wasn't around, she probably would have learned some new words!!!!!!
