how can i fix the horn on my escort (m reg) 1.4 .the push on the stering wheel some times works if you hit it hard and when i wired it to the battery the horn works .is it the wireing or the wheel push

Sounds like the horn pad is bad on steering wheel...........

Hi Ian,
Most common fault is a faulty horn switch, they have a habit of breaking inside the switch. If you remove it and join the wires together and the horn works, its the switch. The other fault, is the contacts on the indicator switch which connect the steering wheel to the car have worn down. These are 2 brass pins that contact the bottom of the steering wheel, this may be your problem.
