The light on the air conditioning button lights up when selected on my Ford Focus Zetec 1999 but the air is not cooled down. Is this something I can fix without going to a garage?

Did it work last summer? If so it's very likely it just needs to be purged and recharged... Also this is not something you should do yourself a garage or some speed lube place will charge you somewhere between 60 to 100 for this and probably will tell you that the high port side has a leak.
