Most gas ovens have a flame sensor,it only allows a little gas through until it gets hot,then once hot it opens the gas valve fully,but if the flame should go out, the sensor goes cold and the gas is cut off. Check that your flame sensor is in the flame, if it is, you may need a replacement ( the flame sensor is known as a Thermocouple)
