HELP!!!

We have a hotpoint wd865A washer dryer which when a wash program is selected, just keeps rocking drum back and forth (As if trying to balance Load)! it does this if no washing in machine!! Also the water does not seem to be heating up at all!!

well, if the drum is turning but not fully check the motor and motor carbons, as for the water heating, check the element and sensors.
