I have a 2001 Craftsman LT1000. The battery kept dying and I tried a trickle charger and it failed to work. So, I bought a new battery and installed it. Battery is fine but the tractor will only click when I turn the key. Do I need a new solenoid? I went to the troubleshooting section and that was one of the things other than repacing the battery...any ideas?

You can take a test light or volt meter and check for voltage on battery side of solenoid ..when you turn key on you should have voltage @ the little wire of solenoid and voltage coming out of starter side if not solenoid is bad
Sounds like solenoid ...have replace mine for the same reason
