My Kenmore Whispertone Vacuum Cleaner Model 116.35173690 has no suction and I cannot find my owner's manual. Are there any answers out there or would someone know of a website that I could download a manual?

Up to an hour ago I had the same problem. It has been about 2 years since I had not had any decent suction from the vacuum and thus resorted to a broom. I just tried Gerry's response. My vacuum is like new again. I cleaned out lots of junk. The last item was a wheel from a very small toy (this is where the problem started). Advice: Burn calories picking up small items from carpet before using your vacuum. It could save you dollars for a day at the spa.

remove the canister from the front of the vaccuum then unscrew the upper portion from the bottom then unscrew the black portion inside the top, either replace the filter or clean, vaccuum should work properly afterwards. Its best to empty and clean this filter each time you use the vaccuum.

Check the ring around the pickup tube.It may not be closed. If you have a powerhead, make sure it's clear of debris all the way through the pivoting joint. Stretch out your pickup hose to release a clog, or try to run a broom handle through as much of the hose as possible.
