what is a piston ring for on a ascooter and are they expensive to replace

to raplace the piston rings on a scooter you need to take off the seat and the plastics under the seat so you can get to the engine clearly and then where the spark plug fits in that s a clinder head you need to remove that when you have undone all the bolts and nuts and taken t off you will see the piston and the rings are wraped around it near the top of it you need to carefully remove them (warning they do snap easly) and fit the new ones and repeat the process in reverse making sure it all goes back together properly make sure you have no left over parts and let it tick over for about 20mins before you ride it good luck

Rings fitted into the grooves of a piston. There are two types: compression rings for sealing the pressure in the engine combustion chamber and oil rings to remove excess oil off the cylinder wall.
as for the price I dont know sorry i dont think they be over 25 pounds or over 35 dollars
