how do i fix my renault megane coupe speedo cable 1999 model?

my speedo cable is not working,but i dont know where to find it to see what the problem can be.

Can anybody please help?

yes the rev counter does work the speedo works some times

Does your does your rev counter also work? if not it might be the instrument cluster that has gone faulty. Also are you sure that your car has a speedo cable and not a speed sensor? I have a 99 megane and it gets the speed off the gearbox via sensor.
