How can I start my weedeater?

I tried to start my Craftsman weed eater (model 358.795160, serial # 011 27N 400046) for the first time this season but it won't run for more than a few seconds. There was some gas in the tank all winter but I put in fresh gas. How do I keep it running?

I don't know much about your weedeater, but it may be on cholke, if so, take it off, the main purpose of the cholke is to start it and let it run for a few seconds then die. Just to get gas and air in the cylender. Check if it is on cholke.
