I bought a used renault megane & the speedometer doesn't work so the mileage on the clock is also affected - all the other guages work - Any thing that I can do or help please on who best to contact as I usually drive Ford cars without all these electrics!

I have the same problem with my 2000 Megane. Can you expalina little more about this soluciotn. I have opened the Blackbox. It has few fuses and bunch of connectors. One is the biggest connecting about more then 20 wires in it. Are you talking about this Connector where i should see for speedo connector.

Had the same prob with my 99 megane, i found that corrosion had eaten through one of the wires, causing intermittent problems on the speedometer. Best place to check is the main fuse relay (its the black box thats in the same compartment as the battery) open it up should be 4 or so fuses and a white block connector. check to see all the wires are ok, i think the speedo wire is Grey. if it has been corroded just solder the wires together. hope this helps
