Pump runs but nothing comes out? Remove lower panel. Drain as explained above if you can. The pipe from pump to the back of the machine was blocked solid with scum residue. The filter was packed with scum and the other pipes coated. The small black hose was blocked too! A fuel-tank syphon fed down the soap drawer drain emptied enough to open the door. I lifted the front panel to get at the pipes on the pump (2 screws plus one behind soap drawer). The rubber seal stays attached - treat it carefully! Back panel needs to come off to remove the pipe for cleaning - it was completely solid - couldn't pour water through! 15 years troublefree - good service!

I have currently got the same problem with my Bosch 1401. I have just removed the filter and given it a clean. I have been told it is either blocked or the pump has gone. If pump £70 all in to fix roughly.

Take the bottom kick plate off, but DO NOT undo the filter housing! Just to the right of the filter is a black rubber tube with a white plastic stopper in the end of it - this is the drain point. Get a hose pipe ready, put a plastic sheet on the floor, quickly pull out the stopper, and push the drain pipe into the hose pipe (mine was a perfect fit). Once the water has drained out of the hose pipe, the door will open. All you have to do now is figure out why it won't spin to pump out the water - when you find out, let me know, because mine has done exactly the same thing!
