which citroen or peugeot engines are interchangable in my berlingo 1.9 diesel?

I have had the same problem, there are many varations of
the 1853 cc diesels fitted to berlingos, the precise series is
identified within the middle section of the vehicles VIN plate.
for example wjy or wyz etc.

You have to fit the same series engine or the ECU will not allow the motor to run, also some have the injector pump coded to the ignition key so you hae to swap the old pump onto the new engine.

For me it as easier to get a hort engine block and swap all the bits over, best of luck.
