replaced starter cord on Ryobi 725R, and no recoil. HELP!?

After replacing, the cord does not recoil. Need help figuring out what went wrong.

Karen, I'm a step behind .. how did you remove the clutch assembly from the 725R?

Is there a thread (coounterclock perhaps)?
Just pushed it out (pressure)?
Are there any screws somewhere? (I don't see them)

also...if you did wind it up already, then you may have wound it the wrong direction.

One important thing to the recoil part is, when the original rope breaks the recoil part will spin to the end...so you need to wind it back up so that you load the recoil. You don't want to wind it too tight,you could break the spring. Be carefull with this...anything spring loaded can be very dangerous!
