I have a Peugeot 206 1.4 that has a annoying squeel?

The squeel comes from the drvie belt driving the A/C, Steering pump and alternator. Have chnaged the belt - no improvement.
Whilst belt was off I checked the bearings on the idlers and components all seemed ok

any ideas

I had the same noise, on my 206 (2003)

After carefully inspection and hearing it turned to be the idle pullsy that was causing that noise. I was told that this was a known problem on 206s.

replaced and now it works oK.

Sounds like you have covered most areas ....a pulley misalignment will cause this too
See if the belt has wear marks on the side and check alingment of belt on pulleys
