McCulloch 3540P: smoke?

i've been using the McCulloch 3540P classic lawnmower without a problem for the last 4 years. recently, it started smoking quite heavily as soon as i start it. i checked the oil which is fine. any help or suggestion will be much appreciated.

I agree sounds like the piston rings are on their way. Its an easy fix if you mechanically minded or a mopwer shop should be able to sort fairly cheap. About £50 to fix and service.

Could it be you've not used it for some time..?? Mine did this when first used from the winter period...and after a few times of using it, it stopped.....

Sounds like the rings are siezed up or worn ....
