emission warning light?

i have a nissan micra 1.os and the emission warning light has come on how can i solve this problem.. please help

I usually have found that if the light comes on intermittently on the dash it is down to fuel. Avoid Supermarket fuels and try BP or Shell for a few tanks and it may disappear! Failing that it may be the sensor in the throttlebody that needs changing (£100ish). Hope this may help!

I have had this twice. Once the throttle cable had seized and the other it was dirty petrol. I went to asda and filled up there a couple of times as their petrol has detergent aditives which did the trick after a couple of tanks.,
