Removed side panel and help motor to turn the drum it will run until cycle changes when the motor is not able to restart drum revolving, wondered if a braking mechanism is failing to disengage, had noticed that a curclip on the spindle at the back of the machine had come off, this was replaced and the machine is now in the state as given above, will not rotate without help, heating up fine etc, any ideas.

does it run on its own after an assisted start.

if so i was told it was the condenser

I am told the condenser gives the initial burst of energy to over come friction
