Peugeot 206. Alarm - ignition problem?

My car would not start although the engine was turning over, and all was in order, (ie Petrol, battery etc). I relocked the car with the remote, set the alarm, waited 2 mins, unlocked the car and the engine started 1st time. After I arrived home and switched off the engine would not start again. I have been told that the ignition key needs resetting. Any ideas as to how to do this ? PLEASE !!!

how to replace a ignition switch on 206 1999 model

it's probably not the ignition doing but the coolant temperature sensor. Cost £10 at peugeot and easy to replace.

Having the same problem since last week. Exactly as you describe. Hope someone comes up with an answer. If the ignition key needed resetting it wouldn't work at all. Something is intermittent. I also notice that often just closing the drivers door operates the central locking on the passenger door and boot.
