Lawnmower leaks gas thru filter while running. Now won't start?

Self propelled Toro GTS 2 cycle Model 20680.
We put a cock switch on gas line to use fuel only while running.
Gas drips during this time. Now it won't start at all.Should I junk the lawnmover. Service says carb parts alone would be $125.

Carb parts alone are nothing like $125.
The person with the first answer is absolutely correct. Fuel is leaking because the float is not closing correctly in the carb.
Disassemble and clean with Carb Cleaner. Check the float and the pin, but also there is a small "seat" that the pin sits into. If this is not there, your leak will continue.
Replacement cost is about $4.

Not totally familiar with that engine but if it has a bowl type carb what is happening is the float is not shutting the fuel off. Remove the carb and take off the bowl(bottom of carb) pull the pin out that holds the float in and remove the float and fuel needle above it. clean the needle and blow through the seat with compressed air. Before putting back together check the needle doesnt look worn at the pointy end and check the float actually floats by putting it in some water as these can leak reassemble. No cause for scrapping the machine usual problem is dirt stoppin the needle from seating properly
