al03 means something is caught in the main wash pump motor pump. Drain the machine. manually empty the interior water reservoir with a cup/cloth. turn the power off, take the bottom off the machine, look for the pump, remove the circular clamp, remove the obstruction & rewind process & restart.

I have had an AL03 code - in my case it meant that there was an obstruction to the water outflow into the drainage pipe under the sink. The connector that connected the outpipe to the sink drainage contained a small anti-return valve, which isn'treally needed. My handyman removed the valve, and all was well after.

Now, 18 months later, my machine is showing an AL10 code. Rats.

I don't know about you but mine is giving me a AL 03 and it's not mentioned in the trouble shooting book. :/

Richard Harrison, June 2007
what does al03 mean is the dishwasher connected to the hot or cold supply on dwf07.

On my FDW80 this code accompanied by the smell of burning meant the heater element was US. I replaced it with one from my local appliance spares shop for £40. It is simple to change but you do need to buy some jubilee clips before you start the job. I am told that you can run the machine with the right side off to check for leaks afterwards. I wish I had as the drain clip leaked slightly and caused an AL01 code!

I have seen this elsewhere as I look for another error code. AL10 means that the heating element needs replacing - generally by the service engineer.
