Is it possible to repair female USB sockets?

I have some female USB sockets where the plastic tongue that the 4 metal strip connectors sit on has broken. Although USB devices still work (the electrical connections are fine), they are unstable - a slight knock will disconnect the device.

Does anyone know how to repair the plastic tongue without replacing the whole socket - as some are in laptops, this would be tricky.

Not us such. One replaces the whole socket.
