There is a puller for this removal but it can be done without one. Remove the nut holding the flywheel (fw) on. This nut is really torqued in place & can be hard to loosen. Extra care must be taken on the fw for you don't want to damage any of the cooling vanes or warp it. Once the nut is loosened don't remove it but unscrew it all the way up so as to have it flush with the top of the shaft. Now you will need an extra person's help here, with gloved hands or using 2 wooden sticks insert them under the fw between the block & fw taking care not to damage anything under the fw. Lift the fw with the sticks an 1" off your work bench & have your help gently rap the nut on top with a hammer, if it doesn't break free rap it again with more force & repeat as needed
