Make sure the bulb holder is not corroaded. If it is replace it, cost around £5 from a ford dealer. If this is ok, it could be the switch located on the front of the gearbox. This has a wire which plugs straight into the switch. You should be able to replace the switch easily, but check first if the gearbox oil needs draining. Hope this helps.
