Ultima 1200 message that door is not closed?

I have an Ultima 1200 washer/dryer. Upon starting it keeps beeping stating that the door is not closed properly. It is shut an I have tried pressing against the door but to no avail - same message.

Ours has always been like that. I just push with my knee against the door and it rectifies.
