When you weld say an exhaust pipe what is the best make of paint to use to cover the weld and surounding metal to stop it coroding?? ive used a heat proof paint ofcause but its not water proof so just lets it rust and within a short time youre back to square one ?

im prety sure the rust im getting is from outside!

if i posably can i want to save the pipe as its reletivly new but i had to do a weld on it to fit a bracket. so finding a good water and heat resitant paint would be a god send ??? plus i have othe projects the paint would be useful for ...

Exhaust pipes tend to rot from inside out so painting the outside is a bit of a waste of time.
