how can i fix my fridge freezer, Hotpoint ffa70?

I have a Hotpoint fridge freezer model number ffa70, it is three years old, first the freezer stopped freezing, and then after several weeks the fridge stopped working.
What can I do to fix it?

switch it of for 24 hours. leaves door open,
switch back on..if no better, call an engineer
