Installed a new video card in my Presario - no signal detected?

Had problems with display on monitor. Sometimes no image, sometimes really big image. So I plugged in a new video card, mistakingly did not remove drivers before hand. So I plugged in the old video card - now monitor says no signal detected. How do i get my signal back?

Also, try connecting your monitor to the motherboard video connection, loading the BIOS setup (DEL or F10 on boot for most Compaqs), and checking for a "boot initial video" option. Usually you can choose from "AGP" or "PCI". Try changing that.

try reseating the card and checking any cables, if that is ok try updateing the firmware, you can download from www.hp.co.uk they tend to call the firmware rompaqs. The presarios did have a problem with the display where it wouldnt turn when the pc was turned on, there is a fix for that problem with a firmware update. you can probably get the a set of replacement disks from hp. If you woundering why i am refering you to hp, compaq was bought by hp about five years ago. Hope this helps
