No power or pilot light on?

my Baxi solo 2 30 PF has no power light on and the pilot is off even though I have the power switched on. It only comes on when the heating is switched on or the hot water is used. I thought the power light and the pilot should always be on. Please can someone let me know what I should do...if anything.
Thanks

The boiler you describe has an automatic ignition system which fire's the boiler (pilot included) each time there is a call for heat or hot water. It doesn't have a permanent pilot.
There's nothing to worry about unless it's doing something else wrong. If you're getting heat and water and it switches off when you turn off the timer or other controls it sounds like it's all o.k...
