Whine in rear end of 2001 Ford Focus?

I changed both rear bearings a year ago. 3 weeks ago I repaired rear brakes and rotated tires. Whine is evident from rear of car and gets louder as speed increases. Sounds like tire noise? Car has 85,000 kilometers on it. What could be causing this noise?
