Hi,
The last week we've noticed the hot tap has to be on full blast for the boiler to fire up, any less and it cuts off matbe coming on again for a few seconds then off again? any ideas?

Hey Alan must be out of work...not suprised with an attitude like that. Look through these threads and youll see him everywhere saying the same. I wonder if hes ever been skint and not able to pay for a plumber?

hot water is fine when the central heating is on which runs fine.
the fan does shut down and re start when heating is not on.

Could be diverter valve or faulty thermistor or faulty air pressure switch or a number of things.
Does it do the same on heating? Does the flame modulate down before it cuts off? Does the fan shut down and re-start each time?
Little stars(ls) are quite difficult to fault find without enough info.
Probably better to get someone in..
