We have a Hotpoint condenser dryer TC71 - which has served us well for years. We no longer have any heat on low or high settings, but the machine works. The belt is intact and their are no obstructions. Can anyone advise as to the problem the manual does not give any clues.

This will most likely be a thermostat that has gone.

They come as a kit and both need replacing. They are located above the heater element which is behind the cover at the rear of the machine. Just a simple matter of removing about a dozen screws.

If your stats have a green spot on the you need 1701583, and if your stats have a red spot then you will need 1701557.
