My Potterton Electronic neataheat 16-22 has to be changed as spares are scarce according to the service engineer from British gas. He said you might be lucky with a museum. £3420.50 before discounts was quoted. £2822.76 after discounts. Does this sound a fair price? open easily access boiler [no cupboards]. Oh It is possible the pump will need changing but B.G would charge extra as it wasn't included.

To change to combi boiler [ Green in mind] so we can remove the header and hotwater storgage tanks what would that likely cost be?
app 1800 for full conversion from system to combi includes price of boiler +removal tanks etc

Thanks for your replies Steve & Dave I am now shopping around and checking what friends have had done.
Just had another thougth BG service our boiler yearlly only though when I notify them the last was overdue as they hadn't sent a reminder letter. £188 a year to cover all repairs and yrly service. thinking twice about that and putting the money in the bank instead for repairs and annual check.

We charge about 300 for a straight swop (plus boiler)but of course other work including removing tanks may cost extra.
I would have thought that 1000 pounds plus cost of boiler would cover most jobs easy

Ask for plumbing contacts from friends. We have had 2 swaps to combis -Baxi 105s at different properties £1400, and £1800 with attic rad. These are from a plumber who values our trade. They probably are GOOD prices.
Just tell BG to take a tablet and shop round if you are not in a rush.
