Hi

You might have PATS fitted, March 1995 onwards was the introduction for the Mondeo TD so theres a very good chance your car has it unless it was sitting around at a dealers waiting to be registered.

To tell if it has got PATS:

What does the red light do when you remove the key? Does it start flashing every few seconds?

Look on the end of both your key, is there a red spot?

If there is then your Mondeo has the first generation PATS immobiliser system.

PATS = Passive Anti Theft System or its early name was Safeguard.

PATS cuts the starter motor ( & other engine electronics ) so the engine wouldnt even turn over if the immobiliser was still armed.
