Why doesn't a dyson dc-01 suck through the hose (good hose)?

Dyson dc-01 de-styll doesn't vacuum through hose attachment, I have replaced the hose with a good one, but still no suction. Any ideas?

have you checked the wand ? the other thing to check is the two flaps at the back of the duct, near the serial number. if they are not closed you will loose suction.

When did you last wash (or replace the filters?). Dyson recommends washing the filters every 3 months and replacing every year. I've had a poor suction for several months now and dismantled the DCo1 twice with no success. Last night, between reviewing replacement vacuums, I stumbled across the Dyson website, it suggested washing the filters. Gave it a go, expecting nothing, and got loads of fluff and fine powder from the filters. Dried for a day, just replace them and the machine is as good as new, fluff whizzes around the cylinder and the wand sucks like it did when new. Give it a go (cheaper than buying a new vacuum).
