Hoover AM110 Hot wash fail?

The hot wash (90deg button pressed) has failed on our Hoover AM110 Washing Machine. This is more than likely the result of a loud bang that came from the machine whilst in the middle of a hot wash. The heater works because I have "cold filled" the machine on a normal wash and the machine heats up the water. Is there a dual element system in this machine?

Paul,
I suppose all I really need to know is what the 90 deg button actually does. Does it actually control power or does it send a signal to some other device that controls the power?

Sounds strange! There's only one heater; and if it's heating up to 40, it should heat up to 90

Is there a solinoid on your timer?
