Changing a fuel pump on a Vauxhall Vectra 2.0L DTi (1998)?

We are reliably informed that our fuel pump isnt working on our Vectra 2.0L DTi. Can we change it ourselves or is it a job for the professionals?
Any thoughts/advice will be appreciated.
Cheers

Feel very sorry for you, mine has gone on my Vectra (same model) 2001, cost for a new one from Vauxhall £1925.00, then its got to be fitted but it is a job for the professional because apparently they need to be chipped to your car! Its a nightmare, only had mine 3 weeks but they are prone to going at around 80k-90k. Think if you look round you may get a reconditioned one at around £500 but be careful who you get to fit it.
