vauxhall corsa wheel bearing rear how to fix?

vauxhall corsa wheel bearing rear how to fix it
rob, June 2007
what ever you do don't tighten it too much. wheel must run free and stop itself when turned after so many revolution. too tight and it will self destruct and you could hurt yourself and other road users.

Same as holes_666 but remember to fill the bearing housing/hub with about 70g of bearing grease this will help to lubricate the bearing at high speeds. And also when fitting the inner bearing (the big one) fill with good quality grease before fitting seal on.

Jack up car, remove rear road wheel and chock the other side.Slide wheel under sill for safety.Release the hand brake.Remove cover from centre of rear hub.remove the split pin.remove the nut.pull hub/brake drum from the stub axle.Drift out old bearings.Clean out hub.Fit both new bearing outers, and inside inner bearing and new seal .Grease and refit hub to cleaned stub axle.Fit front inner bearing and adjust to make sure theres no "play".refit new split pin and replace grease cap.refit road wheel.
