When I push on/off button it just makes a buzzing noise and thats it, the filter light use to come on and my wife used a broom handle to keep the on/off button in the buzzing noise still went on and on. I have taken it apart and cleaned all the dust and cleaned all round. Can it be repaired or get a new one

Sounds like you have hotpoint tumble dryer normally means the door is not shut properly or if not that possible your door switch or relay has gone faulty.
