The motor is clanking following belt replacement - what's wrong?

My Creda Reverseair Energy Saver dryer's belt broke and I replaced it successfully (with the instructions on this site!) but there is a clanking noise when I push the drum around by hand, or with power- sounds like it's coming from the motor - any ideas what it is and how to fix it?

I discovered that when the belt had broken it had forced the fan into the side of the fan housing. So I took off the smaller back panel, which just covers the fan and fan housing, which let me see the metal housing ring which was bent and the fan blades were clearly hitting it. I bent it back into shape and replaced the back panel, Bob's your uncle!
