The dishwasher stops once water is added - it does not heat the water!?

I had a problem other people have had with the Zanussi DW907 dishwasher - the water inlet value failed and the heating element was glowing red hot. Having changed the valve at a cost of about 20.00 gbp, the diswasher now stops part way through the "B" cycle, the water is added but it does not heat up. I am assumming I broke something while fixing the valve but do not know what. I did try switching the spade terminals round to see if that was the problem, but it made no difference!
Anyone any ideas?

I assume your domestic power is 240v. When the machineis in its heating phase check for 240v across the heater terminals, if you have a 240v reading on your multimeter change the heater
