Your dyson dc01 has a blockage you will find that if you remove the three screws wich hold the bottom plate on this is the part you look through to see the carpet brushes you remove this and check this bit out .it blocks at the back edge .This problem will also acour if the belt is stratched or snapped allowing abuild up of dust etc to wrap around the belt area also check the two fillters or replace if cloged up
