The ignition on my cannon chichester keeps igniting when ovens are used?

When the upper and lower ovens are used on my cannon chichester oven the automatic ignition ignites repeatedly after a minute or two. What is the problem? After a while it makes cooking unbearable!

To remove the front panel with the knobs on, you have to remove the two side panels first. Then the curved aluminium edge trims which are held to the long side trims come apart by removing one screw.
Constant sparking was due to the two brass connectors in the microswitch attached to the oven taps coming out of their seatings and permanently touching. The microswitch is in two halfs.

Bob, If you're still looking at this forum:

a) Is that the earthing at the cooker end (i.e. not the plug)?

b) Do you know how to remove the control panel? - I took off all the knobs and retaining screws but couldn't release the trim bar along the top, it looks like it might just snap out but as it's not my cooker I was reluctant to force it.
