how can i fix my hotpoint wm 64 washing machine?

a sock jammed the drum and caused the belt to break fitted new one but for some reason the motor will not work after this happening is there some fuse or component that i should check ?

It is poss that the carbon brushes in the motor require replacing
or the motor plug or part of the loom has been pulled with the sudden stoping of the drum with the sock .I would first check that the drum spins freely without the belt on just incase theres somethink els stuck in it and secondly check that the motor spins freely by spinning the end of the pulley by hand .Please note the washer must be UNPLUGED before you check. When youve tried this then plug in sellect spin and see if you can see or hear the motor moving Hope this helps
