Got problem trying to use sat nav through cigarette lighter it used to work but has packed up can't find correct fuse to change help!!

i know it might sound daft but put ignition on first then try it it might help.

was told by my mechanic that the elements were rusty and it wouldn't work (just after me telling him it was a fuse problem) so i gave the element a good clean and it never worked... so i have just replace the whole unit with a brand new original Peugeot lighter socket and NOTHING.... i'm still convinced it is a fuse problem - as far as i know there are a few places where these fuse panels are hiden - i just need advice on where the lighter fuse panel is? ok ive been looking around and i cud be down to a few things some of them not down to me becuase ive got a new one but ill say anyway erm..... check for rust burnt wires makes sure all the metal prongs in the plug ar straight etc and then the next problem is fuses....i cudnt find any blown fuses whihc makes me think that a fuse is missing all together because mines never worked since i bought mine second hand soo.... iam gonna check tomorrow morning.... hope anyof this has helped....

hey ive got the exact same problem iam trying to plug stuff in and it wont work so i bought a brand new one and spent hours trying to install it no joke lol..... so now! the light on the cigarrette lighter works but the actualdevice doesnt ..... iam still searching the web if i find anything ill get straight bak but i hope someone finds it before me coz am so miffed haha
