I am working on this today. It is not easy but can be done. The window regulator sliders slide in a track attached to the bottom of the window glass. The sliders are kept from coming out by the simple expedient of "pinching" the end of the track a bit so the sliders can't come out. I took the window regulator sliders out the front of the track. After removing all bolts holding the mechanism in place and all wiring connectors, pull it out from the door a bit and reach behind with a pair of channel locks or bent nose needle nose pliers to bend the bottom edge of the track back out so the sliders can slide out.
I could not figure out how to get the little rods that work the door latches off so I ended up flexing the bottom mount of the door latch and lock latch mount down and popping the latches loose. Be suire to unhook the wiring harnesses including the ones on the door latch mechanism. This one is hard to get to but it can be done. Also make sure the speaker wire is disconnected.
Have some one help by holding the glass up while you work the sliders out of the track. Once free lift the window all the way up and use duct tape on the outside of the window, up over the top of the door and back onto the inside of the window. I used three LONG pieces front center and back of window.
Now that I have the whole mechanism out I just need to figure out how to get the regulator off without having a rather hurky looking spring go SPRONG and rip my head off...
