How do I take the carb. off of an 3.5 Briggs & stratton lawnmower?

How do I take the carb. off of an 3.5 Biggs & Stratton lawnmower
Big Mark, July 2007
Very simple.
There is one screw which holds the carb and the fuel tank onto the engine. Remove this and the one screw holding the fuel tank onto the front bracket ( over the cyclinder head), and then work the carb away from the engine, remember the position of the spring and the air vane.
Apart from the above there are no other screws holding this in position. Use a spray ( Carb cleaner) to clean the carb and all should be ok. Replace in the opposite procedure.

easy- there should be 3 maybe 4 screw around the edge of the carb if it is the suction type which it probably is with only 3.5 hp
there wil be a gasket under it which you will need to replace if you remove the carb- do not try and reuse it! a new one wil only be around$2 Keep track of which holes the throttle cable goes into for reassembly
