Today I accidentally cut into a metal gate post (hidden in the hedge) and now the hedge trimmer makes a horrible loud noise and won't cut. I did not damage the blades but something inside is not right. Any ideas please?

It is a Bosch AHS 4-16 Hedge Trimmer

had same trouble with mine.After taking the blade assembly apart at motor end found that a a large washer between the blades was torn.Made a replacement with a tin lid cutters now work fine.
