How do I fix my 1993 Fiesta LX starter motor?

How do I fix my 1993 Fiesta LX starter motor? It starts eventually after 2-3 goes (Loudish Click, then Silence then maybe start). My battery is fine, as are their contacts...Also cleaned contacts on soleniod properly...still unreliable.

Give the starter motor a whack with a hammer - this may dislodge muck and dust on the bushels which may need replacing....
